Boston MetroWest Strings

Empowering young musicians through the gift of accessible string education

About Us

Boston MetroWest Strings introduces children to the joy of string music through playful, supportive, and age-appropriate instruction. Designed for young beginners ages 5–8, our program nurtures creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.

Our nonprofit was created to make high-quality string instruction accessible to young students, especially those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to explore string instruments. Through engaging, small-group lessons, students learn in an environment where curiosity is encouraged and every child is celebrated.

We are currently running a 2025–2026 pilot program with four students, using these early lessons to thoughtfully shape a curriculum that is both fun and effective. Photos and videos from our pilot offer a glimpse into what lessons look like—full of movement, laughter, and music-making.

Looking ahead, we plan to open full programming for violin lessons (more instruments to come) in Ashland, MA in Fall 2026, with plans to expand access across the MetroWest area. As we grow, our promise remains the same: to make string music education welcoming, joyful, and available to every child!
